Since mankind exists has always been fascinated by the show that night after night takes place in the sky, above his head. What really happens there? There is a fixed plan? And has it something to do with us? The answers to these questions have varied greatly throughout history; and there is still much to know until science can clearly differentiate between fiction and reality. A long way in exploring the universe - in Regensburg that path can be shortened and made more entertaining. We start in the Kepler Memorial House and there we will see the first reasoning and concepts of astronomy studied by scientists for 400 years. We end the visit at the Astronomical Observatory, where experts will guide us through today's latest developments. We conclude the visit with a flourish: Through the telescope of the observatory you can also enjoy a fantastic view of the stars!

A wide collection makes a vivid image of the magnificient of one of the most important royal families in european aristocracy. In St. Emmeram Palace, nearby the exhibition rooms, is located since 1998 the Bavarian National Museum. Heading north from the historic stable you will find the Treasure of the Prince, with the finest objects of Thurn & Taxis House, property of the State of Bavaria since 1993. Furniture, the finest porcelain, gold and silver working, an exceptional collection of tobacco boxes, and much more precious objects, testimony of the splendour of one of the main families in european aristocracy.

The stables play maybe the most important part in the history of a palace. Between 1829-1832 the architect Jean-Baptiste Métivier built the stables for the royal palace. The assemble includes the stables and a 600m² covered stadium, decorated by the sculptures of the artist Ludwig von Schwantaler. The Stable Museum has a great collection of carriages, coachs, sledges and sedan chairs from XVIII and XIX centuries. Gala silverware, horseback riding equipment, and music instruments complete the collection of the Royal House of Thurn & Taxis.

St. Emmeram Palace and Cloister is worth a visit.

Since 1812 the vast complex of buildings of the former convent of Saint Emmeram in Regensburg is the main residence of Thurn & Taxis princes. The guided tour through the Palace Museum is immersed in the aristocratic culture of the Baroque and Historicism, in which all the courtly splendor of past centuries shows itself in the sumptuously decorated rooms.

The museum area of the cloister of Saint Emmeram will bring you back to the medieval era of monastic Benedictine monks. In the neo-Gothic crypt you can learn the funeral rites of European aristocratic families.

The museum on two historic Danube vessels will let you know the history of the German river navigation.

Regensburg has hundreds of monuments - the most unusual of all floating on the waters of the river. The museum is located on two historic Danube vessels: the Radzugdampfer Ruthof (built between 1922 and 1923) and the Freudenau (1943). Both vessels have been recently renovated through the efforts of various institutions.

On board you can visit several original rooms, the steam engine or the diesel engine still running regularly on display, dioramas, models and more, allowing you to form an idea about the history of navigation on the German Danube.
